Hold right hand, back to right, well out in front of right breast, index and thumb curved, forming an incomplete circle, space of about half an inch between tips, other fingers closed.

Notes

Clark notes that this represents money generally. Latterly, since the use of paper money, they frequently make proper signs to denote this. The Indians say that they first saw silver dollers (white metal), then gold (yellow metal); and from the shape came the sign. For paper money I have seen the above sign made, and the size of one of the notes marked off on the palm of extended left hand, or motions made imitating the counting of a number of bills.
